Guide to Noosa
Guide to Noosa, QLD.
If you and your girls are dreaming of a blissful beach break, look no further than our popular Noosa getaways linked here. Located in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Noosa is the perfect spot to enjoy the beach, brunch and of course lots of bubbles.
We have put together a fabulous guide to Noosa, highlighting all it has to offer and why we love it! We must say though, Hastings Street is your one-stop-shop for our recommendations - lined with gorgeous fairy lights, ice cream shops, boutiques and much, much more.
Below you’ll find our top food favourites as well as some activities to keep you on your toes!
MUST-TRY RESTAURANTS
1. NOOSA BOATHOUSE
An idyllic waterfront location with a menu that lets seasonal produce shine, Noosa Boathouse is an iconic bistro, bar & events destination that truly encapsulates the relaxed Noosa lifestyle. We recommend a booking at the Sunset Bar on the top deck to enjoy the best sunset views in town (with a cocktail in hand of course).
2. MISS MONEYPENNYS
If you’re looking for a sophisticated restaurant/bar while visiting Noosa, reserve a table at Miss Moneypenny’s. Located on Hastings Street, Miss Moneypenny’s is a stylish venue with a relaxed atmosphere, offering a wide range of delicious cocktails alongside a modern Mediterranean cuisine. Miss Moneypenny’s has fast become an iconic place to visit for both locals and tourists, receiving several prestigious wins and nominations every year! They even have a dog-friendly deck so you can bring your furry friends.
3. BISTRO C
Another top pick when visiting Noosa is Bistro C, an elegant beachfront restaurant right in the heart of it all. Take in the view of Noosa Main Beach & indulge in their hand-crafted menu inspired by amazing local produce. Their relaxed, light filled space offers the perfect setting for a leisurely breakfast, long lunch, afternoon cocktail or moonlit dinner. Bistro C prides themselves on their passion for food which is evident in their award-winning cuisine.
4. BANG BANG
Bang Bang Noosa sits in the heart of Hastings Street, showcasing Southeast Asian Cuisine and a sharing-style menu like their hugely successful sister restaurant in Byron Bay. Exotic chandeliers hang from high ceilings, the dining area is set around an open kitchen and bar where signature cocktails flow. Dim lighting and lush greenery offer a tranquil setting; the ambience and the relaxed vibe feel quintessentially Noosa.
5. NOOSA HEADS SURF CLUB
If you are after a more laid-back lunch or dinner venue, then look no further than Noosa Heads surf club. Set right on Noosa Main Beach, they offer classic tasty pub food with a stunning view of the surf break. Enjoy a drink on their outside deck as the sun sets on the horizon and make sure to take lots of photos!
6. ROCOCO NOOSA
Our last food recommendation is Rococo Bistro on Hastings Street. This Italian restaurant is perfect for a light lunch and a cocktail! In the warmer months, take advantage of the outdoor seating while watching the foot traffic waltz by. At night, sit back & relax to the lively tunes from their resident DJ.
7. MASSIMO’S GELATARIA
We decided to throw in a bonus recommendation for those who like something sweet! Massimo’s Gelateria is a must try for the best ice cream in town.
MUST-TRY ACTIVITIES
1. COASTAL WALKING TRACK
If you ask anyone what there is to do in Noosa, we can guarantee they will mention the coastal walk through the National Park, and for good reason! Approximately a 1 hour walk, this coastal route stretches 4.8 kilometres, with numerous little bays, photo opportunities and even wild koala’s to spot (yes you heard me right). Pack your water, snacks, swimmers and enjoy the sights. If you’re there at the right time of year, whale and dolphin sightings aren’t uncommon, so keep your eyes peeled. At the end of the walk, you will find yourself at the entrance to ‘Hells Gates,’ a renowned scenic cliff spot with 270-degree views!
2. STAND-UP PADDLE BOARD
Hiring a stand-up paddle board is a fun activity that will keep you entertained for hours. Noosa main beach is the perfect place to practice your skills, with Noosa Stand Up Paddle or SUP Noosa being the best places to hire from. Enjoy!
3. SUNSET RIVER CRUISE
As we previously mentioned, Noosa is notorious for whale, dolphin and even turtle sightings, so a sunset cruise down the river might be the activity for you. Our top 2 recommendations are the Noosa Queen River Cruises or Noosa Ferry & Cruise Company. You will enjoy a beautiful boat ride, with a beverage, the sunset and hopefully some fauna to keep you company!
4. EUMUNDI MARKETS
While in Noosa, you must experience the world famous Eumundi Markets. A short 20-minute drive from Noosa main beach, these markets are on every Wednesday and Saturday, and have been since 1979! These open-air markets showcase over 600 stalls, ranging from food, fashion, flora and much more.
5. EXPLORE NOOSA MAIN BEACH
If you’re on the hunt for a quiet activity to end the day with, a simple stroll down the Noosa main beach boardwalk is always a good idea. Take your surfboard, beach towel, paddle board, or just yourself and have a quick dip in the big blue.
6. HASTINGS STREET SHOPPING
Hastings Street buzzes from coffee carts at sunrise to fairy-lit strolls at dinner. One of Australia's most iconic shopping precincts, along the pretty stretch of Hastings St, you'll find boutiques offering unique Noosa-born labels, international designers, high-end designer jewellery, organic beauty products, beautiful homewares and more.
Happy adventuring!
Love, the GG Team xx
